15+ Truly baffling bird's nests: 'Update on my dove's Dorito nest'

Many people dislike pigeons, but as a pigeon stan myself, I just can't agree with them. I know, I know, they have a reputation for being "rats with wings." They look goofy, they walk funny, they eat trash, and they're everywhere you look in many big cities. I certainly wouldn't go around petting wild pigeons or anything, because I'm sure they are quite dirty (like rats). But one can admire them from afar, and perhaps have a laugh at their antics.

Pigeons, and apparently doves too, create some hilariously sparse nests for their young. I'm a huge fan of the way these gals will gently lay down like 4 twigs and be like, "Perfect." They're ready to plop down and lay a couple of eggs in the world's worst nest, which for some reason, they think is the best place to raise their younglings.

Well, as you can see below, there are some places that nests should just never be built, and that's exactly where these bird-brained critters are going to make their homes. For example: why would a bird create a cozy nest at the intersection of several train track paths? I… simply do not know. The bird appears safe from the trains overhead, because it's sunken down into the tracks. But the noise alone would scare away most animals, not to mention the vibrations shaking them around 24/7. Beats me! Apparently many birds are smart creatures, so perhaps they're playing using some 5D chess logic that us humans could just never understand.
